Présentation des notions d’anglais au bac

Bonjour,
J'ai beaucoup de difficultés et j'ai du mal à présenter mes notions en anglais j'aimerais avoir de l'aide. Pour la notion "mythes et héros" nous avons étudié Ellis Island, Une image de l'Amerique où sont représentés les emblèmes de l'Amérique : la statue de la liberté, le drapeau , Uncle Sam , Elvis Presley, etc… qui font partie du "rêve américain". Ensuite nous avons vu "Prince of Peace" (John Dos Passos, le 42nd Parallel, 1930), le speech de Barack Obama, "Fill in the bank". Puis "The first European settlers in America" , un document p24 du manuel d'anglais " Kentucky Ohio river" dans lequel on parle de la segregation, que des Afro-Americans sont exclus du rêve américain… et un texte "As White Americans give up on the American Dream, Blacks and Hispanics embrace it."
C'est tout pour les documents étudiés concernant la notion Mythes et Heroes mais je ne trouve pas de problématique qui corresponde à mes documents.´Pouvez-vous m'aider s'il vous plaît ? Me donner quelques idees ? En gros on parle du rêve américain…
pour ce qui est de la notion "lieux et formes de pouvoir" nous avons étudié un document "Guns in the Us : the statistics behind the violence" , "getting a gun in Colorado", "The Bill of Rights" , "Brady Campaign" "Gun Owners of America" , "Ted Nuggent" "Michael Patrick" nous avons étudié aussi p134 du manuel un personnage qui est en train de crier, Andy Warhol s'est inspiré du "cri" d'Edward Munch…
Pour la notion "espaces et échanges" je ne sais pas du tout, la prof nous a dit qu'on avait traité la notion mais honnêtement je ne vois pas à quels documents cette notion correspond :/
Pour ce qui est de la notion sur le progrès , nous avons étudié pour le moment uniquement le film "Made in Dagenham" "We want sex equality" (title in France)
J'aurai besoin d'un coup de main vraiment car je suis complément perdue ! Surtout des idees de problématiques pour les 4 notions ça m'aiderait beaucoup à démarrer… j'ai anglais en LV2 au bac et je dois connaître les 4 notions car ce sera tiré au sort il me semble.. et il faut choisir pour ces quatre notions : 2 documents étudiés en classe Je crois non ? Étant donné que je l'ai pas en LV1 il n'y a pas besoin de choisir un document personnel je crois.??

Pour ce qui est de l'épreuve en LV2, vous n'indiquez pas votre section (L,S,ES) mais vous trouverez tout en tapant épreuves de LV2 au bac …..(L par exemple) car il y a beaucoup de référence sur internet.
N'hésitez pas à aller voir votre prof si besoin pour des éclaircissements (ou demandez à des ami(e)s).

pour la LV2, au bac L, l'oral c'est:
-10 min d'exposé
-10 min de questions
-pas de documents perso (hors LVA et LELE)
-l'oral porte sur une des 4 notions, si le programme a été fini 😉 car vous m'avez l'air d'etre bien avancé comparé à nous 😉 nous, on devrait pas tarder à finir la 2ème notion 😉
-Il faut une problématique comme vous le dites et sur ce point, comme j'ai un peu de mal moi-même, c'est dur de vous aider 😉 En revanche, je peux peut-être vous orienter 😉 essayer de voir, comment il est possible d'orienter le thème de la notion 😉 par exemple, pour le reve américain, on peut aller sur l'évolution de celui-ci, se poser la question sur si c'est un mythe ou une réalité… Tout dépend de vos documents que je ne connais pas 😉

-sur le fait que les populations Afro américaines et hispaniques s'en emparent je serais BEAUCOUP plus nuancée (c'est vrai qu'il y aura dans 10 /20 ans plus de "coloured people" que de blancs mais cela ne veut pas dire qu'ils vont prendre la place des Blancs qui, croyez moi , vont s'accrocher à leur statut et à leur privilèges) Moi je crains plutôt des émeutes et ce n'est pas Trump qui m'enlève cette grande inquiétude!
Le discours d'Obama dont vous parlez n'est pas "fill in the bLanks" qui est la consigne mais certainement son fameux "Yes we can" Donc oui parlez du fait que l'élection d'Obama a soulevé beaucoup d'espoirs (et que l'on s'aperçoit maintenant que c'est l'arbre qui hélas cachait la forêt car il y a eu beaucoup de violences dans les rues et de meurtres et que le ressentiment contre la population noire est grande et toujours là!)
le racisme revient au grand galop aux Etats Unis;
1 L'election de Obama a donné beaucoup d'espoir : le rêve américain, ce mythe, prend corps dans cette élection pour les Afros américains aussi; redevenant possible pour tous (qui aurait cru que 50 ans après les violences raciales , et le droit de vote péniblement acquis par les Afro-américains (Civil Rights Mouvement) un Président noir serait élu?
message d'espoir 'yes we can" fin apparente des inégalités….
2.Si ce rêve égalitaire a eu lieu , ce Président noir élu n'est-il pas l'arbre qui cache la forêt . la vie des Afro- américains a-t-elle changé?
les premiers immigrants étaient pétris de religion et on les appelaient les WASP (White Anglo Saxon Puritans) et il sont plus tard, avec la Civil War voulu perpétuer la traite de Noirs .
la conclusion qui ouvre sur le sujet : les "coloured people "seront bientôt plus nombreux mais ont-ils les moyens de s'emparer du rêve américain?
Si les gens de la génération des Obama ont bénéficié des écoles mixtes, beaucoup d'écoles dans le Sud du pays ne sont plus mixtes du tout ; Elles ont moins de moyens , les meilleurs profs n'y enseignent pas car moins bien payés….
la problématique: En quoi l'élection d'un président noir a-t-elle vraiment changé les mentalités (racistes, esclavagistes du temps de Civil Rights movements)ce mythe égalitaire, qu'en reste-t-il? et n'est-il pas effrayant de voir que les Américains de base, éloignés du pouvoir ont élu un Donald Trump (raciste, homophobe, sans expérience politique ???)Si le slogan est de rendre le rêve américain possible 'make America great again) qui y croit encore?

Hier, j'ai beaucoup travaillé sur mes notions et j'en ai finie une, MYTHES ET HÉROS. J'aimerais savoir ce que vous en pensiez, y'a-t-il des fautes ? Mon plan tient-il la route ? Est-ce que ce que j'ai fait paraît cohérent ? Bon, la seule chose pour laquelle je ne suis pas satisfaite c'est bien ma conclusion! C'est un point essentiel et pour moi je la trouve assez "vide" , j'aimerais bien que vous m'aidez à l'étoffer un peu! I have chosen to talk about the American Dream through the notion of Myths and Heroes. The American Dream is the concept that everybody has the same chances to climb up the social ladder, no matter where he starts from. Indeed, it emplies that everybody, with hard work can go from rags to riches. First of all, let’s define it. A hero is a person admired for his or her achievements, noble qualities and great courage. A myth can be an ancient story about old mystical beliefs or tradition embodying the ideals and institutions of a society. Then, I am going to answer the question "is the American Dream a myth or a reality ? At first, I am going to process the picture of Pismestrovic published in 2004 which represents the American dream. But, I am going to show that the American dream can be diverted and that the reality can be quite different sometimes. For that purpose, I am going to lean on the black and white photography which was taken in 1937 during the Louisville Flood by a photographer called Margaret Bourke-White. To conclude I am going to speak about an article that I chose, called "Oprah Winfrey, TV Host, Actress, Philanthropist. "
My first document by Pismestrovic published in 2004 is a collection of pictures referring to the symbols of America, iconic characters. It highlights this American Dream with the many monuments as the Empire State Bulding, Mount Rushmore and the Statue of Liberty who are inescapable. We can't speak about American Dream without evoking the flag, but also a few political references as Georges Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln who are heroes because they defend causes, values and they allow to develop the mentalities in the society.There is also of cultural icons such as Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley, that marked generations. The American dream has always been a way to give a good image to the state.
However, the reality is quite different. One of the main points trying to be made in the black and white photography by Margaret Bourke-White is the distinction between dreams and reality. On the billboard, the white Americans seem to be the perfect picture of a family living the American Dream but the African-Americans beneath it completely contradict the message that it is trying to portray. If the American way truly is the best way, why are African-Americans the only ones waiting in line for food? Margaret Bourke-White, acknowledges the color barrier that exists in society at this period and the negativity associated with it. It points out the way that the stereotype of the “American Dream” is not the majority and that many victims of the flood are living under utter despair. It seems as if the government and other powerful people of this time are blind to the troubles of these people and still trying to falsify an image that disregards reality. The message is that everybody can't realize the American dream.
If the American Dream doesn't seem accessible to all, Oprah Winfrey tries to show us the opposite. In fact, She was one of the most influential people in the United States. Thanks to her determination, her courage and her ambitions, this woman who was born poor and during segregation was able to impose herself on society by leaving everything to devote herself to the education of African girls and contribute to the development of South Africa. Her actions have been rewarded since today she is one of the richest women in the world and has become a symbol of the American Dream for people because she demonstrated that the American Dream was a reality.
To conclude, I'll simply say that the American Dream stay a reality for some people as we have seen with the example of Oprah Winfrey. On the other side, it gradually becomes a myth, because of the evolution of the country and mentalities..

It points out how the stereotyped of the “American Dream” : a strong religious connotation has always been attached to it since the Pilgrim fathers. Not only did you have to work very hard , but also be "blessed" by God and slaves who arrives from Africa were NOt in that category.

Oprah is admired and rich but there are not so many Afro-Americans lie her.
In conclusion I think it is very important that oprah , like the Obamas have benefited of a sort of golden age where The Civil Rights movement (les droit civiques des noirs) were a strong issue and that with the quotas being introduced in highschool(where a certain number of coloured people were imposed on schools) and universities, the hard working people could mingle (se mélanger) with the White population and get high degrees or at least be no longer considered as slaves and good for nothing. The terrible thing today is that quotas were never added as such in the Constitution and the Southern states ave given up on them.
Therefore today a lot of Afro-american kids are growing in poor areas , in average schools and they stay tgether : they have no more white friends . White people keep to themselves in nice and large houses and receive a higher standard of schooling
So once more ,the American dream seems more and more reserved to White people and something has to be done about that rapidly.

To conclude, I think it is intersting to underline that there has been a generation of African Americans that have benefited from equal chances or that have at least benefited from the civil rights movements (le mouvement mené pour les droits civiques des Noirs comme le droit de vote..)African American people were in the 70s ans 80s given a true chance to have a fair education because quotas were imposed on schools . Therefore all Americans had a chance to go to prestigious highschools and universities if they met the schools standards. No doubt many African American like the Obamas have seized the oppurtunity .Nowadays however the quotas are not applied anymore in more and more schools in the South in particular and kids from differents backgrounds (white or black) are no longer mingled but live parallel lives.
The American Dream has returned into the hands of its inventors: The WASP (White Anglo Saxon Protestants)who were the first settlers to set foot in Northern America.

Faites bien attention de bien recopier ce qui est écrit (il y avait was et is qui se suivaient par exemple; je n'ai pas l'impression que j'aurais laissé passer cela …)
