Traduction du subjonctif en anglais

Dear teachers,

1) What should I say to refer to two simultaneous actions that happened before the wishing?

Ils auraient aimé qu’il fût/soit parti/allé(?) skier avec eux mais il était trop occupé.

a)They wished he had gone skiing with them but he had been too busy. (wrong?)

b) They wished he had gone skiing with them but he was too busy.
c) They wished he could have gone skiing with them but he was too busy.

2) What should I say to refer to two simultaneous actions that happened after the wishing?

Ils auraient aimé qu’il allât / aille skier avec eux mais il était très occupé.

a) They wished he went skiing with them but he was too busy.
b) They wished he could go skiing with them but he was too busy.

3) Do we use the subjunctive after "in case"?
a) Take your umbrella in case it rainS. (indicative)
b) Take your umbrella in case it SHOULD rain. (subjunctive?)
c) Take your umbrella in case it rainED. (wrong?)

Thanks again for your help,
Hela
