Tout d'abord je souhaite bonne chance a tous ceux qui passent en ce moment l'epreuve d'anglais spé.
Quant a moi, je voudrais avoir des réactions sur les signes qui annoncent la mort d'Hannah au chap 1923 et également si il s'agit d'un suicide ou pas. Jsuis dans le flou ^^

Bonjour, je suis en terminale  L et je  m'apprête a passer l'oral d'anglais sur l'oeuvre en question. Le fameux Sula de Toni Morisson! Mon oral est dans 10 jours, le 12 juin et je suis un peu inquiète car malgrè la bonne préparation orale de ma prof, on a beaucoup parlé en effet, je me retrouve sans veritable plan pour certains extraits.Juste plein d'idées...Si quelq'u était d'accord pour me donner des plans généraux ça me donnerait confiance et en échange je proposerai mon aide quant a d'autres plans.

Voilà sinon le programme officiel demande un contenu d'extraits totalisant vingt pages minimum dixit ma professeur.(Pour ceux qui le demandaient je crois).

1919(focused on shadrack)

a) presentation of shadrack, what happened to him, and the function of  NSD for him ( he's became completely mad because of the war/ he found the national suicide day )
b) description of the first NSD and the reaction of the community ( at first the blacks considered S as a madman
c) the evolution of reactions to NSD ( from indifference then eventually to acceptance) the fear > indifference > gradual approval > a success thanks to the reverand deal !)

1920 (focused on nel and helene)

a)the incident: helene's mistake, the conductor's racist behaviour
b)helene's attitude (absence of pride ) and its consequences: the blacks passengers' hostility and her daughter's shame
c)the distance between nel and helene. impact on nel : friendship with sula

1921 (focused on plum and eva)

a)eva's journey to plum's room ( she seems to a giant heron because of desability)
b)the rocking and the singing: prelude to death ( it's a kind of farewell)
c)eva sets fire to plum but he thinks he's dreaming (effect of heroin)

1923 (focused on hannah and eva) death /

a)absence of comb (one of the stranges things)
b)eva's useless sacrifice: she jumps but fails to land hannah (funny and traggic)
c)hannah's face destroyed by the fire and the boiling water thrown at her by the suggs
d) hannah dies (how?) in the ambulance, eva accuses sula of watching her mother dies ( she's the ideal scape goat)

1937 (focused on sula and eva) hatred between them / community is against sula's behaviour /...

a)a cold welcome, an impolite attitude and a lot of bad feelings on both side (flock of robbin is a kind of bad omen)
b) her confrontation with eva ( they reproached each other many thing > plum's death / sula is not married / ...
c)the sula's victory (sula got rid of eva, she put her in a old people home)

1939 (focused on sula and ajax) love / ironic when ajax made love with sula at the end of the passage

a)the new sula (metamorphosis) ( she loves a man, she took care of her > green ribbon in hair, she cleanned the whole house)
b)ajax's return (he told the tar baby's incident with the police)
c)sula cares for ajax and he takes fright ( he didni't want to live in a nest like a normal couple)

1965 (focused on nel) looks like the prologue / consumer society / memories / circles of sorrow / the book can restart ...

a)from sunnydale (old people home) to beechnut cemetery ( she remembered the chicken little's death / she reconsidered her role in his death / she's guilty and not sula ...)
b) at the cemetery (she remembered the white's presence and the black's absence
c)nel's meeting with shadrack and her final reconciliation with sula ( she called the sula's spirit )

Je passe aussi demain !! Je stresse un peu ! Mais je pense que ça devrait aller pour Sula. J'espère simplement tomber sur un passage dans la 1ère partie et avoir un bon document inconnu où je serais inspirée!!

Bonjour ! Heu je voulais savoir Olddick , maintenant que tu as passé ton oral , pourrais tu nous dire si tes palns étaient corrects et ce que ça a donné ?
Question plus générale pour tout le monde , dans la présentation au début de l'oral il suffit de parler un peu de l'auteur et de présenter vite fait l'oeuvre non ?
