I also think it's good to have a universal language for communication. But that mustn't impech ourselve to learn other languages !

Of course, especially when we know how enriching and valuable it is to learn different languages...

Empech... To prevent someone from (+ving)

for exemple:

He told me to stay hat home in order to prevent me from seing this girl!

Sorry, Jichou, but empech does not existe in English.
The nearest words I can find are 'Impeach' (a legal term) and 'impede' = donner un croche pied (métaphore).

What is the meaning of (+ving) ? progressive form ? why the “V” ?

I thnink jichou was trying to say a Gerund or a Gerundive (a verbal form which takes the place of a noun) = verb ending in '-ing'

JSC this is what i said! I said we don't have to say Empech but to prevent someone from + Ving (yes it's gerund like in the exemple)
