Pourriez-vous me corriger ce thème, SVP?

Quand la maman de Sophie était de mauvaise humeur pour une raison ou pour une autre, il lui arrivait de qualifier la maison de véritable ménagerie.
When Sophie’s mother was in a bad mood for one reason or another, she would compare the house / household (?) to a real menagerie.

Une ménagerie, c’était une collection de divers animaux et en ce sens, oui, Sophie était plutôt fière de la sienne.
A menagerie was a variety/collection of animals and in that sense, yes/indeed, Sophie was rather proud of hers / her own.

On lui avait d’abord donné un bocal avec trois poissons rouges : Boucle d’or, Le Petit Chaperon Rouge et Pierre le Pirate.
She had first been given a bowl with three gold fish: Goldilocks, Little Red Riding Hood and Peter the Pirate.

Puis elle eut les deux perruches, Cricri et Grigri, la tortue Govinda et pour finir Sherekan, un chat roux tigré.
Then she got the two budgerigars, Cricri and Grigri, the turtle Govinda and finally Sherekan the ginger tiger-like cat.

On lui avait offert tous ces animaux pour compenser en quelque sorte les absences de sa mère qui travaillait si tard et de son père toujours à l’autre bout du monde.
She had been offered all these animals to make up somehow for the absence of her mother who worked very/so (?) late and of her father who was always at the other end of the world.

Sophie se débarrassa de son cartable et donna à manger à Sherekan. Puis elle s’assit dans la cuisine avec la mystérieuse lettre à la main.
Sophie dropped off her schoolbag and gave Sherekan something to eat. Then she sat in the kitchen holding/with the mysterious letter in her hand.

Qui es-tu ?  Who are you ?

Quelle question idiote ! Comme si elle ne savait pas qu’elle était Sophie Amundsen ! Mais qui était cette Sophie en définitive ? Elle ne savait pas trop au juste.
What a silly question ! As though she did not know that she was Sophie Amundsen ! But who was Sophie in the end / after all ? She did not really know.

Et si elle s’était appelée autrement ? Anne Knutsen par exemple. Aurait-elle été alors quelqu’un d’autre ? [...]
And if she had had another name, A.K., for example, would she have been somebody else?

Elle descendit de son tabouret et alla à la salle de bains en tenant toujours l’étrange lettre à la main. Elle se plaça devant le miroir et se regarda droit dans les yeux.   
She stepped down from her stool and went to the bathroom still holding the strange letter in her hand. She stood in front of the mirror and looked at herself straight in the eye.

« Je suis Sophie Amundsen », dit-elle.  « I’m Sophie A., » she said.
